GRAMMY Camp signups are due GLENDORA – High school students who dream of a career in the music industry can apply for the GRAMMY Foundation’s second annual GRAMMY Camp. The application deadline is Friday. Held at Citrus College from July 15 to 31, the camp allows students to explore 14 music career tracks: audio engineering, film/TV scoring, arranging and conducting, music production, video game music, video game sound design, DJ/remixing, and performance tracks in keyboard, guitar, bass, drums/percussion, saxophone, trumpet, trombone and singing/songwriting. Diamond Bar High gets award DIAMOND BAR – Best Buy awarded Diamond Bar High School a $2,500 tech award for integrating interactive technology into the curriculum. The award will support the school’s Rewind Films Digital Media Productions program, in which students learn to plan, produce, film, edit, mix and master video projects. The money will go toward purchasing more digital camcorders, a digital camera and a scanner. Ringland named a Super Teen WALNUT – Southlands Christian High School student William Ringland was named a 2006 Super Teen by Next Step Magazine. The award is given to students who exemplify academic achievement and a commitment to community service. Ringland, a junior, is service director of student leadership council, organized a fundraiser for Hurricane Katrina victims, treasurer of the associated student body and editor of the school newspaper. Parents can register their children at the following elementary schools: Cullen, La Fetra, Stanton, Sutherland, Sellers and Williams. Children must be born on or before Dec. 2, 2001, to be eligible for kindergarten. Parents must bring proof of age, two proofs of residency, records of childhood diseases, immunization records and proof of a current physical examination.
