MIAMI, Florida, CMC – Royal Caribbean Cruises says it has banned a passenger for life after she was seen taking a selfie on the railing of Allure of the Seas as it approached Labadee, Haiti last week.“Earlier this week, on the Allure of the Seas, a guest was observed recklessly and dangerously posing for a photo by standing on her stateroom balcony railing with the help of her companion,” said Royal Caribbean in a statement on Friday.“Security was notified, and the guests were later debarked in Falmouth, Jamaica as a result of their actions, and are now banned for life from sailing with Royal Caribbean.”On its website, Royal Caribbean says that “safety and security safety and security are everyone’s responsibility.“All guests must attend the mandatory muster drill, and follow all other safety instructions issued by the captain,” it says. “Should anyone become aware of someone being injured, or of unsafe or possibly illegal behavior during their cruise vacation, they should immediately report this to the ship’s security staff or other ship management.“This may be done through the ship’s telephone or by seeking the assistance of a crew member. If you do not immediately report an injury or unsafe/illegal behavior this delay may cause the ship’s personnel to be unable to effectively respond to the situation,” the website adds.“A reporting delay may also cause the ship to be unable to properly preserve information or evidence and may cause a delay in notifying the proper law enforcement or other Government officials,” it continues.Peter Blosic, a passenger on the Allure of the Seas, said he saw the unnamed woman taking the selfie while he was on his balcony.“I saw the woman climb on her railing. It happened so quickly. Not knowing what her intentions were, I alerted the crew,” Blosic told CNN.“If I said nothing, and she was going to jump, that would be horrible,” he added.

Shanghai, China | AFP | Neymar hit the red carpet in Shanghai on Monday as speculation mounted that the Brazil star could be set to quit Barcelona for Paris Saint-Germain for a world-record 222 million euros. The 25-year-old striker is at the centre of an apparent tug of war between the two European giants in what would be the most expensive transfer fee in football history.A training spat with new Barcelona signing Nelson Semedo during a pre-season tour in Miami ramped up chatter that Neymar could be about to swap Spain for the French capital.Neymar, who has remained tight-lipped about the transfer rumours, posted a message for Chinese fans on Weibo, China’s equivalent of Twitter, after arriving for a promotional visit.“Ni Hao China! I’m Neymar Jr. and I’ve just arrived in China,” he wrote.“I’m in Shanghai at the moment. I would like to send a huge hug to all my Chinese fans, thank you very much for your support.”He later posed for a scrum of photographers and television journalists and answered questions about fashion, before attending an evening event for a clothing brand.

Dear Editor,We are headed for a constitutional crisis, because Granger and followers are bent on circumventing the clear and unambiguous letter of the law. They are bent on holding on to power no matter what the cost, so the usual T-dancing on non-essential and illogical issues that have nothing to do with the clear-set mandates in the Constitution.I see Attorney Nigel Hughes giving his opinion on the same issue also, he is postulating a “what if” scenario. There is no “what if” scenario to a successful passage of a no-confidence motion. What I can safely tell Nigel Hughes and friends is that the Constitution of Guyana has no “what if” attached to its clauses, the matter of a no-confidence vote being carried has the attending consequences for the sitting Government and that is final. Now, there can be an extension to the March 21 date, but that is dependent on the consent, and I repeat, the consent and approval of the Opposition. I know the Granger folks do not like to hear this, because in their book the Opposition should have no say in the running of things in this country. But the way the Constitution is written, this cannot happen, they must seek education and legally-guided reasoning from the Opposition. At every step of the way the Opposition must be quoted, this is shared governance at its best. So, Granger is at his wits’ end as to the way forward.Well, a sound suggestion to the President to ease the stress is, set a date for the election, you still have time. Stop listening to the hardliners in your party and set a date, it will be the most enlightened decision you would have made in your entire career. The Constitution further prescribes the President and Cabinet shall resign and announce a date for elections within 90 days; that is so clear. Those 90 days end when the clock strikes midnight Thursday March 21, 2019 and if an elections date is not set by that time, the Government becomes an illegal entity, a squatter if you please.I do not think the PNC would like that impending crisis to settle in, because dark and gloomy would be for all members of that illegal entity called the PNC-led coalition. No court of law can overturn what is clearly etched out in the Constitution, so Mr Granger, come on: do the right thing.Respectfully,Neil Adams

At the opposing end, 29 African countries are proposing an end to endemic poaching of elephants and to put a stop to the decline in their numbers. In another case are proposals to change the status of lions from endangered to a species not under threat. So while policymakers will be discussing the fate of wildlife in air-conditioned auditoriums at the Sandton Convention Centre, the animals will still go about their day in the warm South African sun.We present to you a collection of images from the Global White Lion Protection Trust in Timbavati, Limpopo. His name means star warrior in Sepedi.Sangomas are said to be able to communicate with the lions in Timbavati. A sangoma, Maria Khosa, saved Linda Tucker, founder of the Global White Lion Protection Trust, and her friends from being lion prey in 1991. When the lions surrounded the van of tourists, Khosa appeared from nowhere and calmly made her way to the van, walking among the lions. The big cats calmed down and backed off.A typical male lion paw print. Male lion paws are larger and their toes more splayed than lionesses. Measurements taken from a lion’s paw print can also help Linda Turner, founder of the Global White Lion Protection Trust, guess its age. Such tracks can also help determine the direction the lion is headed. This tiny construction is a remnant of what was a farm before Linda Turner, founder of the Global White Lion Protection Trust, bought the land for the trust.
