Liverpool latest team news v QPR – Reds to welcome back first team stars

first_img 1 The international break was something of a blessing in disguise for Liverpool, with the Redmen visibly hindered by injuries.Prior to their victory against West Brom last time out, Brendan Rodgers’ men had failed to win since their 3-0 away success against Spurs and they will be licking their lips at the prospect of another much needed three points when they take on a below-par QPR side on Sunday – live and exclusive on talkSPORT.The biggest positive for the club however should be the return of Daniel Sturridge, who has been absent since the end of August. Liverpool have undoubtedly missed his predatory instincts in attack, with Mario Balotelli yet to find his shooting boots.Sturridge has reportedly flirted with returns over the past weeks, but is expected to finally take to the pitch at Loftus Road on Sunday.Another important player slated for a return is Joe Allen. The Welshman has been absent with a knee complaint, but Rodgers confirmed prior to the international break that the midfielder will be back in action when the league campaign resumes. His return will offer something of a selection dilemma, given Jordan Henderson’s strong form and Adam Lallana’s recent impact, but it is a problem Rodgers will surely be happy with. The Raheem Sterling debate will likely resume following his withdrawal from England’s Euro 2016 qualifier with fatigue. The 19-year-old has been among Liverpool’s most frequently used players this season, but he should be fresh to face his former side on Sunday.Liverpool’s only injury concerns surround Emre Can (ankle) and Jon Flanagan (knee), with the latter not expected to return until December.A question mark continues to linger over Mamadou Sakho’s future. Rodgers commented that the Frenchman has been struggling with injury, but with suggestions that he has fallen out of favour at the club, it will be surprising to see him make the starting line-up against QPR.Liverpool’s provisional line-up v QPR: Liverpool should be back to full strength for the weekend 1 Liverpool fans, do you think Daniel Sturridge will return against QPR?
